Me and my friends finally got to go golfing on the legendary Old Course St Andrews. What a feeling! Knowing that I was playing on such an important golf course for the history of this wonderful sport gave me the shivers! Obviously, I did not win the game, but hey... it was an experience I will never forget.
They kept the course intact, and the panorama still resembles closely to what it was almost 100 years ago. Even the famous “road hole bunker” was there. I'll tell you I had a good mind to shoot the ball into that big hole just for the fun of it. I didn't do it though, because I still wanted to win. The course was exactly how I had seen it in countless computer golf games, and going there was indeed an adrenalin rush for me.
Anyway, me and my friends promised ourselves to go there again one day, but I'm not sure I can pull all those strings again. Maybe this was an unique chance and can be never repeated, but this makes it all the more valuable.
